About FlowTrack Pro

I'm a backflow admin. I started building FlowTrack because the paperwork around backflow testing got out of hand — every test generated a city form, a customer record update, a calendar reminder for next year, and an invoice line. Most of that work happened back at the desk, hours after the tech left the site, and most of it was copy-and-paste between systems that did not talk to each other.

What's broken about the way most shops handle compliance is not the testing — backflow testers are good at the test. It's everything around the test. The district submission rules change quietly. The form template gets a new version and nobody sends a notice. The invoice goes out a week late because the office staff is still typing up yesterday's site visit. The next-year reminder gets missed and the customer's water gets shut off. None of that is the tester's fault. It's the workflow.

FlowTrack took three-plus years to build because most of that time was not writing code — it was sitting with the workflow and figuring out what could actually be removed. Every shortcut in this software is a shortcut a real backflow admin asked for after a real bad day. The drag-and-drop PDF parser exists because uploading 40 devices one at a time on a Sunday night is a special kind of misery. The district form auto-fill exists because every city wants the same data in a slightly different layout. The customer portal exists so the office stops fielding "when's my next test?" calls.

What's intentionally simple about FlowTrack is that it does not try to be a CRM, a field-service platform, or a billing system that happens to do backflow. It is backflow testing software. The features that are not in it are not in it on purpose. Less surface area means fewer ways to break, and a tester in the field needs the tool to disappear into the workflow, not become another tab to manage.

Our Mission

Build the boring tool backflow testers actually need.

Boring is the point. Backflow testing is a regulated trade with a fixed end-state — the city needs a properly completed form, on time, in the right format. The software should make that happen with as few clicks as the trade allows and then get out of the way. We are not trying to reinvent the workflow, gamify compliance, or sell a dashboard nobody opens. We are trying to make the existing workflow take less time so the shop can run more tests, file them faster, and stop losing evenings to the paperwork.
